Business partners Carolynne Hassall and Rennay Little have created one Australian best-selling parents’ practical organiser, two more best-selling women’s organisers, a fourth organiser aimed at women juggling family life...and are raising two children each!

The business partnership between Carolynne and Rennay involves product development, wholesale distribution and an online retail store.

 

 

 

 

In 2008, mumentum was honoured with a Telstra Business Award in the Queensland Palm Micro-Business Awards category for enterprises with five employees or fewer.

 

 

 

 

How it began...an idea borne of childbirth

mumentum began in late 2004, when Carolynne Hassall and Rennay Little had a newborn each to care for. As two new mothers, we felt we required an organiser to provide clarity and address motherhood’s new demands.

Through 2005 and into 2006 we researched and developed our first idea for a multi-sectioned mother’s organiser.  Upon securing a publishing deal in late 2006 with Melbourne imprint Ice Water Press, ‘mumentum’ became an official enterprise.

In September 2004 our first idea was conceived and in July 2007 that product was released to market.  Funnily enough, it took nine months to bring New Mother’s Journal from roughs to shelf-ready product!

 

 

A range of practical organisers to help people find balance

mumentum’s organiser range, published by Ice Water Press, now includes four amazingly practical planners being stocked by the likes of national retailer Big W and the range has enjoyed export to Canada, USA, Singapore, New Zealand and UK.

The titles (in order of release) are:   

• New Mother’s Journal:  A Practical Organiser – released in July 2007 – reached a top 21 position in Australian pregnancy & parenting bestseller chart

 

• Health & Well-Being Journal:  A Practical Organiser – released in July 2008 – reached no. 5 in Australian family & health general bestseller chart over four weeks 27 November to  30 December 2008; listed in Angus & Robertson retail stores "Top 5 pick" for 6 months from October 2009

   

• Expectant Mother’s Journal:  A Practical Organiser – released in November 2008 – reached 16^th position in Australian pregnancy & parenting bestseller chart over four weeks 27 November to  30 December 2008; listed in Angus & Robertson retail stores "Top 5 pick" for 12 months from May 2010

  

• Family Organiser – released in April 2010; this organiser is for any woman who is relied upon to get things done; for family/couple/pet owner/carers.
